The teachings of yoga, passed down from teacher to student for thousands of years, refined by the landscapes of India, and reflected in the lives of millions of aspirants, are one of the great wonders of the world. All that we receive of yoga today is a treasure that was born in God’s heart of compassion and faithfully kept alive by the innate human love of truth and desire to know. Matthew’s music, poetry, writings, and talks call upon and celebrate the stream of blessing that is yoga.

The Divine One secreted Itself within the dense ignorance of matter and then began a process of unveiling through the gradual and intricate processes of Nature. Life emerged from matter, self-regulating and expanding. Then mind emerged from life, with even more capacity for unifying and synthesizing. Beyond mind is further growth, the evolution of a wisdom that harmonizes opposites, synthesizes truth, experiences the underlying unity of the cosmos.

We sit today at the edge of mind’s ability to lead us into the future, and a collective call is arising within human hearts for a new capacity that exceeds mind’s limitations. This new capacity will change everything: even matter itself will be transformed and divinized as we open to the future. What comes is as radical as the change from plant to fish, or from fish to turtle, or from turtle to human being.

About Matthew

Matthew is a devotee of the One Divine that breathes this universe into being. His life is given in service to Love and Truth, and his music reflects that longing for greater surrender.

Matthew is singer/songwriter and poet who weaves sanskrit mantras with western musical melodies. His songs evoke the essential human longing to join the sacred and the ordinary, and to shine the heart's radiance.

In 2000 he visited India for the first time and fell in love with the landscape, the people, and the spirit that breathes in the air. At that time he also encountered Sri Aurobindo and The Mother, and the spiritual community called Auroville that has grown out of their vision.

In 2002, he met Guruji-Ma, whose embodiment of love and truth profoundly reshaped his life, purpose, and spiritual understanding.

Shraddhā Yoga is a yoga center and a community devoted to embodying the yogic principles of truth, wholeness, and love. Shraddhā Yoga draws from the cultural and spiritual richness of India – birthplace of the yoga traditions – and offers teaching as a gift on the path of self discovery and union with the divine beloved.

Shraddhā Yoga’s purpose is to help open the way for the future by supporting the embodied self and the soul to come together and create an integrated, purposeful, and fulfilling life. Shraddhā Yoga offers teachings that support surrendering the separated identity’s motivations and desires to the soul’s wisdom and aspiration.
