Let It Open is a wakeup call for the soul.  In Matthew Andrews' musical debut, he weaves poetic, inspiring lyrics with Sanskrit mantras to create a musical invitation to spiritual awakening. In these troubled times, Matthew calls us to dive within and discover the radiant truth that longs to be felt and expressed, and that promises to bring the healing that we long for.

The guitar-driven first track, Born To Shine, builds from sweet encouragement to a bold anthem that urges us to let "the life we wrap around us reveal the light we are". The title track, under-girded by the pedal steel's melodic voice, reminds us that "there is a Love that knows no enemies, no boundaries, no walls" and asks "does the song in your heart find a voice in your life? can you let it open more?" And Sivapuranam brings to life an ancient Tamil song of devotion, flowing into a hymn to Arunchala, the great mountain in South India that holds the heart of Siva.

With an all-star cast of musical collaborators, including David Newman, Brenda McMorrow, Philppo Franchini, and Paul Simon's tour guitarist Biodun Kuti, Let It Open is the soundtrack for the emergent spiritual revolution.

"From the moment I first heard Matthew’s album, I felt an awakening deep in my soul. There is a presence in his voice that captivates the heart. You can hear his soul singing. You can feel his connection to the Divine. For me, it re-opened a place of deep connection and humble gratitude."

- Kay Parsons

The dive into music has been a rewarding, enlivening, and totally surprising evolution in my life. I am deeply grateful to Guruji-Ma, who has taught my heart to sing, and whose encouragement to trust my inspirations and follow them has been integral to this album’s manifestation. I wrote the song Let It Open after spending a month in and around Neem Karoli Baba’s Kainchi Ashram, and his loving grace supported the opening of my voice and the possibility of sharing my heart’s songs with the world. And I bow and offer these songs to The Mother, particularly in her human form as Mirra Alfassa, who has guided, nurtured, and protected me with a powerful and unrelenting love.

Thank you David Newman for trusting me and walking with me through this adventure. Your guidance has been a gift beyond value.

Corinne, my beloved, you have been my muse and most of these songs are a product of my love for you. Arin and Irina, I hear and feel you in this music. I love you.
